Community groups have opportunity to showcase services
9:00am Monday 20th August 2012 in News
More than 40 voluntary and community groups from the Ilkley area will converge on the Kings Hall and Winter Garden next month to advertise their activities.
Ilkley and District Comm-unity Showcase is being staged by Keighley and Ilkley Voluntary and Community Action (KIVCA), supported by Bradford Council’s Keighley Area Committee, on September 8.
The event will be open from 10am to 2pm.
Wharfedale residents will be given the chance to learn about the activities and support on offer, while the showcase will provide groups and organisations with the chance to promote available volunteering opportunities.
KIVCA offers adminis-trative support and advice to voluntary organisations that provide a variety of practical services and leisure activities in Ilkley, Addingham, Burley-in-Wharfedale and Menston.
It resurrected an annual community volunteer awards event earlier this year, recognising the valuable roles played by many local volunteers.
The showcase is open to all, entry is free and refreshments will be available. Contact KIVCA at Riddings Hall, Riddings Road, Ilkley, for details or call (01943) 603348.
