Knitters' patriotic Olympic tribute

Knitters' patriotic Olympic tribute Knitters' patriotic Olympic tribute

The Olympic spirit is alive and well in Ilkley - and so is one of the country’s traditional crafts.
Creative knitters have turned part of Ilkley’s South Hawksworth Street car park into a patriotic corner of red, white and blue. Anyone visiting the car park this week may have spotted the coloured knitted covers around three of the trees in the car park, as well as innovative knitted bunting, and hanging red, white and blue decorations.
This picture was taken by reader, Bill Berrett, who congratulated the knitters on their work, and thanked them for their colourful tribute.
