Ilkley chamber choir Pinsuti performs a celebration of music for royalty through the ages at historic St Wilfrid’s Church in Burnsall on Saturday.
The concert is part of the Grassington Fringe Festival, and will include works written for the coronation of James I, Xadok the Priest and other pieces by Purcell, Boyce and Blow. Pinsuti will be joined by Christopher Rathbone on organ and a string ensemble.
“We wanted to celebrate the jubilee year in a rather different way, drawing on music through the ages that may not be quite as familiar to people, but is wonderful to sing and to listen to,” said conductor Michael Howell.
Tickets can be bought on the door or through the festival website.
Pinsuti repeat the concert at Christ Church in Skipton on July 7 in aid of Skipton and Craven Action on Disability.
Advance tickets for this 7.30pm concert, priced £5, are on sale in SCAD shops in Ilkley and Keighley. Tickets are £8 on the door, £5 for concessions.
