Women cyclists can find out more about a 100-mile bike ride to raise thousands for Marie Curie Cancer Care at an open evening next month.
Organisers will be answering questions about the route, equipment and sponsorship for the new charity event at JD Cycles in Ilkley, between 6pm and 8pm this Wednesday.
The fundraising challenge is being organised by sisters Claire Macina and Adele Wilkin, whose mother has battled cancer for 14 years. They hope to recruit 100 women to cycle 100 miles in one day, each raising around £100 to reach a £10,000 target.
Participants will set off from Ilkley on July 17 and bike to Selby via Pool-in-Wharfedale, Wetherby and York, before returning to the starting point.
Childminder Claire, of Ben Rhydding, said more than 50 women had already signed up to take part but that they were still looking for more.
