Work on the refurbishment of Ilkley Moor’s paddling pool is expected to start in March.
Parish councillor Kathy Best said she was looking forward to working with Bradford Council’s countryside service on the water feature, which has been clogged up with algae and silt.
The work, estimated at around £10,000, includes a new water inlet, repairing asphalt walls and repainting the surfaces. A total of £50,000 funding has been secured by the Friends of Ilkley Moor for the project and improvements to the upper and lower tarns.
Coun Best, who is the project manager, said: “This is a very exciting project for me to undertake.
“I have received support from members of the community who have enjoyed visiting the pool and upper and lower tarn water features with their children over a period of many years and are looking forward to visiting the refurbished paddling pool when it is complete.”
