Whoever said knitting was going out of fashion hadn’t bargained for staff and students at Guiseley School who are working away at the traditional craft to help African Aids orphans.
The school’s very own knitting circle meets at lunchtime to create squares which will then be made into blankets and jumpers for orphans in South Africa.
The knitters are hoping to make 200 squares by the end of term in April.
The school is welcoming donations of double knitting yarn, which should be left at reception for the knitters.
