The plan for a new £60,000 playground in Addingham will become a reality after the news this week that the cash needed has been awarded.
The plan is being implemented by Addingham Civic Society which was told this week that the grant for a major part of the cost had been awarded from the landfill tax credit scheme Waste Recycling Environmental Limited (Wren).
The Civic Society has also secured funding from Addingham Conservative Trust and Bradford Council. And it is expected to elicit support from the wider community.
The society stepped in with plans for a new playground after equipment near the Memorial Hall was written off. The equipment’s metal frames were found to have rusted and needed to be replaced.
Addingham residents will be given the chance to have a say over the playground at a showcase event organised by the society at Addin-gham Memorial Hall on Saturday between 10am and noon.
Addingham Civic Society has started distributing a newsletter telling villagers about the playground plans, with a feedback slip for residents to show their support.
