School pupils and parents in Addingham are breathing a sigh of relief after receiving their school place allocations from Bradford Council.
Last year 12 pupils in the village were told there was no room at Ilkley Grammar and they would have to attend a “failing” school in Keighley.
Although all the pupils were eventually granted places in Ilkley after appeals and number-shuffling, the village feared a repeat of the agony.
This week Bradford Council announced that all the year six pupils from Addingham who applied to go to Ilkley Grammar this September have been granted places.
Addingham Parish Council chairman Alison Widdup said: “This is excellent news. However, we remain committed to the long-term need for a place at Ilkley Grammar School for all Addingham children who want one and will continue to lobby for this.”
