The Reverend Tim Perkins has been named as the new Methodist Minister for Burley-in-Wharfedale.
Mr Perkins, who will take up his duties in September, has been based in the Newbury and Hungerford Circuit of Southampton Methodist Church for the past seven years.
The father-of-two trained at Wesley House in Cambridge, where he achieved an MA degree in Pastoral Theology.
Before that, he spent four years in two church lay worker appointments in Nottingham and Clitheroe.
Mr Perkins will succeed the current minister, Rev Helen Harrell, who is leaving Burley after five years.
In his new post he will also have responsibility for the Methodist churches at Timble and Norwood.
In a letter to the congregation, he says: "I am keen to help individuals develop their own faith and spirituality and to help the church serve and engage with the local communities in ways that are relevant to 21st century people.
"I am looking forward to Burley, which is such a beautiful part of the country and has such warm and friendly people."
Mr Perkins currently lives in Thatcham, Berkshire, with his wife, Lyndsey, and sons Nathaniel, six, and Isaac, two.
