SOME magical family fun will be served up at Otley Courthouse this autumn.

Theatre Fideri Fidera will use storytelling, puppetry, physical theatre, clowning, music and song to tell the tale of Oskar’s Amazing Adventure on Saturday, October 13.

The story, written for young children, involves a puppy’s search for friendship in the wilderness of the Alps.

Desperate for some fun, Oskar leaves the snowbound little house on top of the mountain to try to find a friendly creature to play with.

But where are all the animals? And why does Oskar have to wait until spring to play his favourite game again?

The Courthouse, which welcomed Fideri Fidera last February when they presented another children’s show to a sell-out audience, says it is looking forward to ‘another fantastic event’.

The troupe is one of the UK’s top children’s touring theatre companies.

Their first production Pitschi, the Kitten with Dreams was performed at more than 60 theatres in the UK and Ireland, and Oskar’s Amazing Adventure is currently completing its first national tour.

Theatre Fideri Fidera’s directors, Natasha Granger, Marina Kobler and Colin Granger, said: “For us theatre for young people needs to be accessible, engaging, entertaining and offer a shared experience for both children and their families”.

The Otley show starts at 2.30pm and tickets cost £9 for adults, £7 for children.

They can be booked by visiting www.otleycourthouse.org.uk, calling (01943) 467466 or popping into the Courthouse, on Courthouse Street.
