'Strong results across the board' - A-level results at Guiseley School

The school says Year 13 pupils have recorded strong results across the board for the 2017-18 academic year thanks to an outstanding work ethic.

The results, published on Thursday, August 16 saw 29 per cent of students achieving three or more A* to A grades, with more than 88 per cent achieving three grades between A* and C.

Fourteen students achieved straight A grades in all their subjects, with Beth Dillon also achieving three A* grades (three A*s and one A in Biology, Politics, History, and Chemistry respectively).

Jonathan Allen, William Hargreaves and Martha Madden all attained a combination of two A*s and two A grades, while James Hill, Alison Lloyd, Anya Mallatratt and Keerat Thiara each achieved one A* within their A grades.

Other students celebrating achieving straight As included Archie Crossland, Andrew Longman, Lucas Geldard, Sana Sawant, and Carla Tomlinson.

Guiseley School's Headteacher, Paul Clayton, said: "I am delighted to see this year group achieve such wonderful results.

"They have been a credit throughout their time at the school and fully deserve their success, securing their further education or training destination of choice with these results.

"We wish all students every success for the future."

Many of the students have secured the results they needed to now continue their education at a variety of universities including Cambridge, York, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Durham, and Leeds.
