A LEEDS-BASED charity that helps families who have lost a child is being supported by three local Sainsbury's stores.

The supermarket chain's outlets in Otley, Rawdon and Yeadon will all be helping raise funds for Elliot's Footprint over the coming year.

The charity - founded in 2014 by bereaved parents Andrea and John Kerslake - helps families through child bereavement and campaigns and fundraises for improved bereavement services.

Elliot's Footprint Trustee Diane Pedder visited Sainsbury's Otley on Friday, July 20 to mark the start of the new partnership.

She said: "It's amazing to get the support of these three Sainsbury's stores.

"The money we receive will help pay for a bereavement support officer - so it will be paying the wages of someone who will be directly helping bereaved families."

Last year Sainsbury's Otley chose Otley and District Talking Newspaper as its charity of the year, and raised more than £10,000.
