THE work of two artists with Ilkley connections will be featured daily on the Big Screen in City Park, Bradford, over the next two months in the themed presentation, ‘The Yorkshire Coast’,.

Starting on July 1, it runs until the end of August.

Addingham artist, Geraldine Thompson, and the Vice-Chair of Menston Art Club, Pamela Bumby, will have examples of their art work featuring scenes from the Yorkshire coastline shown on the screen, alongside the work of four other local artists: painter, Ian Burdall and textile artist, Alice Fox, both from Saltaire; printmaker, Sarah Harris, originally from Shipley, and the Bradford-born painter, Sue Atkinson.

Three examples of each featured artist is work shown on the screen and the presentations are daily at 12.30pm. The bi-monthly themed presentations are a joint project, promoting the work of local artists, between Bradford UNESCO City of Film and Silsden resident, Colin Neville, who curates the website, Not Just Hockney.

Colin Neville said: “There is a marvellous collection of evocative artwork, including textile art, printing and painting, on display on the Big Screen over the next two months, reminding us what a great place Yorkshire is for diversity of scenery and the creativity of its artists.

“If the good weather holds, there will crowds of people in City Park enjoying the mirror pool, so this presentation couldn’t be a better backdrop for this time of year. It’s our own slice of the Yorkshire coastline in the city centre. “
