MURDERED MP Jo Cox will be remembered in Otley with a day of song, dance and music this weekend.

The town’s Woolpack Music Studios on Bondgate will take part in the national Great Get Together which is being held for the second year in honour of the Batley and Spen MP who was killed in June 2016.

The Woolpack event will take place from 10am to 4.30pm on Saturday, June 23.

Following last year’s community lunch music festival, Woolpack Studios directors Richard Sabey and Jennifer Birch decided to offer more activities for this year’s Great Get Together.

Mr Sabey said: “We wanted to put on a load of activities which people of all ages and abilities could actually join in with- so there will be the chance to have a go at singing in a pop-up choir, or learning how to Morris dance, or joining in with a community ceilidh with our new band The Woolpackers.

“We’ll finish off with a big folk jam and sing, so if you play something bring it along- you don’t need any experience of any of these- just turn up and have a go. The only one you have to book for is the pop-up choir. We’ll also have a licensed bar available for quenching thirst after all your singing and dancing.”
