A BRONTE Country walk is being staged to raise money for a hospice.
The annual St Leonard’s Way Challenge Walk – on Saturday, May 5 – will start and finish in Haworth.
It will follow a 20-mile route along paths and bridleways, through landscape varying from woods to open moorland and past notable industrial architecture.
The walk incorporates part of the South Pennine Way.
Proceeds will go to St Leonard’s Hospice, in York.
Sarah Atkinson, events fundraiser at the hospice, said: “It is called the Challenge Walk for a reason – it’s a tough route – but people will be rewarded with good company, beautiful views, great exercise and the knowledge that their day out will directly help support the work done here at St Leonard’s.
“There’s still time to join in with this beautiful and historical walk.”
The event was started in 1990 and over the years has raised about £250,000. Supporters are pictured taking part in a previous walk.
Entry costs £12.50 and participants are encouraged to also raise money through sponsorship, or make a donation.
