AN ALL-WEATHER path is to be completed at Hunger Hills Woods in Horsforth.

Ward councillors agreed for a grant of £6,200 - from their discretionary Wellbeing fund - to be used for the work at a recent meeting of the Outer North West Community Committee.

The scheme will see a new section of all-weather path, which will connect to two existing tracks, created at the top of the woods to enable visitors to enjoy a circular walk.

Currently, this section becomes difficult to walk on during the winter months - forcing walkers to sometimes step around it, damaging woodland plants in the process.

Councillor Dawn Collins (Con, Horsforth) said: "The views from the top of Hunger Hills are wonderful and the Friends of Hunger Hills do a fantastic job of looking after our footpaths and wildlife on around the hill.

"I hope this funding will help and that more people will take the opportunity to get out and about, and to discover this gem on their doorstep."
