A SPEAKER from Yorkshire Air Ambulance will talk about the charity's work in an event at Rawdon this week.
The Aireborough Civic Society event will take place at Rawdon Community Library at 7.30pm on Thursday, March 22. All are welcome. Admission is free for ACS Members and £4 for non-members. All proceeds will go to air ambulance funds.
The charity's representative will describe the life of an air ambulance crew member.
A spokesman for the civic society said: "It may surprise you to know that the Yorkshire Air Ambulance Charity relies on the generosity of individuals and organisations to help save lives across Yorkshire.
"In fact as a Charity it only receives help through secondment of paramedics from the NHS, through Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust. To keep both of Yorkshire's air ambulances in the air we need to raise £12,000 per day."
