THE Friends of the Manor House are pleased to announce details of the second concert in their new Spring Series.

It takes place on Friday, March 23 at 7.30pm when Trouvere are in the spotlights with a programme of medieval music. They will present a concert of lively dance music and tuneful melodies illustrating the charm and distinctiveness of the Middle Ages.

Trouvere are Paul Leigh and Gill Page joined by singer Richard de Winter. Together, they research and perform the music of the Middle Ages. Working from original sources, Paul edits and arranges the music, Gill edits and translates the words, and highly experienced choral singer Richard contributes his experience of musical theatre. Their instruments include lutes and flutes of many kinds, a variety of medieval harps, the medieval symphony (an early hurdy gurdy) and the medieval bagpipes.

The Manor House Concert on March 23 will take place in the upstairs gallery. Admission is by ticket (£15 or £12 for anyone in full time education) which includes an interval glass of wine.

Advance booking is advisable. For tickets and enquiries ring 01943 609393.
