A MUM from Otley is hoping to put a smile on the faces of other mums this Mother’s Day with something a little different.

Joanne Mitchell is a new author, but an experienced mother of two. She has written a book called ‘The Perfectly Imperfect Mum’- a collection of honest tales, full of self-deprecating humour that any parent, experienced or inexperienced will wish they had when they started the journey into parenthood.

From humble beginnings, average - sometimes below - school grades, and a number of vocations ranging from hairdresser to gardener to full-time mum, with everything else in between, Joanne is no different from anyone else and felt there needed to be an antidote to the plethora of stern ‘how to…’ guides and parenting advice currently available.

The result is a warm and generous helping of laugh-out-loud anecdotes and been-there-done-that wisdom to remind mums out there that we’re all human. Available now from Amazon and ‘Just Books’, in Otley and Ilkley - £7.95.
