WOMEN will be taking a stand against their sexist boss in Yeadon Amateur's forthcoming musical 9 to 5.
Disgruntled female workers kidnap their boss in the remarkably relevant musical which tells the story of three women who feel short-changed at work and decide to take matters into their own hands.
On stage at Yeadon Town Hall from March 13 to 17 the production is based on the hit comedy film 9 to 5 and features songs written by the legendary Dolly Parton. Local talent include Jordan Garnett, Ruth Graham and the aptly named Fiona Yeadon.
Their chauvinistic boss is played by Gavin Mills. Produced and directed by Peyton Martin, the show promises to have the audience dancing in their seats, laughing out loud and singing along to Dolly’s title track.
The Society's vice chairman Malcolm Kleiman said: "This is our second show with Peyton at the helm. Last year he won many awards for his production of Made in Dagenham and we are more than confident that he will bring the house down with this timely but funny take on issues which continue to be prevalent in today’s society."
