ILKLEY Round Table braved the cold on Friday, November 17 to raise a record £5,132.42 for BBC Children In Need.

The team had members along the Ilkley to Leeds train line from the crack of dawn until after rush hour and then trod the freezing cold streets of Ilkley to collect money for the popular charity.

Nick Marsden, Ways and Means Officer for Ilkley Round Table, said: “We are delighted to raise more than £5,000 for Children In Need. It’s a charity that we love to support and we are thankful to everyone that donated for their generosity and good spirit! Organising this effort is great fun and we can’t wait to beat our record again next year!”

Ilkley and District Round Table will be running the annual Santa Float around Addingham and Ilkley in early December.
