A MAN who is an integral part of village life in Addingham has been presented with a Civic Pride Award by Addingham Civic Society.
Don Barrett was presented with the award by the chairman of the society Jim Robinson at a meeting on September 21.
The award reads: "A Civic Pride Award in recognition of outstanding contributions to the heritage, culture and ethos of Addingham - a
champion of the village".
Mr Barrett is an active member of Addingham Garden Friends, a local historian who not only runs the village website but also writes and edits village publications.
He has served on Addingham Civic Society's committee and was chairman in the late 1990s. He the society's current vice president.
Chairman Jim Robinson said: "Don is a fantastic village asset and this award will go some way to recognise all his hard work, a true village champion, so please keep up the good work Don."
