THE Hollygarth Club on Leeds Road was bouncing to the sound of Northern Soul and Motown on the afternoon of Sunday, September 24.
Over 70 enthusiastic soul people attended the inaugural event and the dancefloor was certainly used to the full.
The resident DJs Barry Innocenti, Ian Smith and Keith Hudson, were joined by guest DJs Karen and Graeme Bickerton from Burnley.
Some of the audience had travelled from as far away as Blackburn, Clitheroe and Harrogate to enjoy the unique sounds from their youth, and the five-hour event seemed to be over all too quickly, fuelled by the 100mph original dance music.
Future Ilkley Soul Club events at The Hollygarth include Sunday, November 5 With Phil Dick of “Detroit a Go-Go” and Sunday, December 3 with Neil Grainger of Clitheroe Soul Club and Ribble FM Soultime Show.
