MUSIC at the bandstand on The Grove in Ilkley was one of the highlights of events taking place in the town as part of the Summer Festival last weekend.

The Two Rivers Swing Band and Funk Soul City were among the bands whose tunes got people dancing in the summer sun. Others enjoyed browsing the stalls of the Continental Market which took place on The Grove on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Ilkley Jazz Festival is ongoing all week with more acts and headlining international jazz stars from London, as well as the best of Northern and Yorkshire jazz talent on offer around town. There will be a jazz picnic on Sunday from, 3pm to 5.30pm at the bandstand on The Grove, Ilkley. The event will feature jazz music to get your feet tapping.

Rounding off events is Ilkley Summer Festival's Concert on the Grove which takes place on Saturday, August 26 from 6pm to 11pm.

The traditional ‘Last Night of the Proms’ entertainment is organised by the Ilkley Parish Council and the event will be supported by old favourites Fox Corner. Formed in 1980 the band is still performing at various events from folk clubs to festivals and social clubs to charity functions. With a strap line of 'Yorkshire's Fun Folk Group' the objective is to entertain and involve the audience with a mixture of folk, country, golden oldies and comedy. The line up will also include Marsden Silver Prize Band.
