ART, craft and design lovers can now get hold of this year’s Ilkley Art Trail brochure, available free from many venues across the town.

It gives details of artists who will exhibit their work in their own studios, in beautiful local homes and public buildings from October 5 to 8.

“We are delighted that Massimiliano Belli a graphic design student who has recently graduated from Bradford School of Art designed the cover of the programme, which features symbols representing famous Ilkley landmarks such as the Cow and Calf rocks, River Wharfe and the moors,”said Sarah Thomas, chairwoman of Ilkley Arts.

“The School of Art are great supporters of the Trail and this year will sponsor a marquee outside the Manor House in which they will hold a variety of workshops and demonstrations including textiles. We are thrilled that the Manor House will be a Trail venue for the first time.”

The programme is essential reading for Trail lovers and spotlights the 64 artists who will be showing and selling their work in 30 venues around Ilkley, as well as Addingham and Burley-in-Wharfedale.

Nick Robinson, a trustee said: “There is something for everyone this year, with a dazzling mixture of art from traditional and contemporary painting to sculpture, photography, jewellery, mixed media and much, much more. We really hope people will be inspired by the creativity and chance to meet artists and makers. Keep an eye on our website ilkleyarttrail.co.uk for more details and information about events.”

Libby Jubb, volunteer co-ordinator added: “If you enjoy working with the public we welcome help from volunteers. Even if you can only spare a couple of hours, you can, for example, steward some of the October Art Trail venues such as the Town Hall. Application forms can be found on the website.”

Ilkley Arts is grateful to many organisations for their support and acknowledge the following, but in particular, Ilkley Parish Council and Bradford School of Art; Avanti; City of Bradford MDC; Cornmill Art Space; Flying Duck; Harrison Robinson Estate Agents; Ilkley Literature Festival; Ilkley Toy Museum; Nell Bank; Nora’s Interiors and Gifts; Outside the Box Café; Real Food, Ilkley; Shoo Media; Tesco Bags of Help; The Art Shop; Tivoli Café Bar; Toast House.
