As we roll into another week of summer, we have an exciting, eclectic mix of films here at Ilkley Cinema. From August 11 to17, we ask the question: is it a bird, is it a plane, why no it is - tra la la! Captain Underpants! Very low down on the list of superheroes you'd call upon in an emergency, Captain Underpants is the brainchild of school boys George Beard and Harold Hutchins, the protagonist in their very own comic book. But things go slightly awry when they accidentally hypnotise their principal into thinking that he is the hapless, ginormous pants wearing and rather daft looking superhero Captain Underpants.

We also have Terrence Malick's latest masterpiece Song to Song making an understated entrance onto our screen. Made famous for his casual, very un-blockbuster like filmmaking, Malick explores how we treat each other in relationships in this experimental romance drama. Two entangled, intertwining couples in Austin, Texas chase success through a rock 'n' roll landscape of seduction and betrayal, with Ryan Gosling, Michael Fassbender, Natalie Portman and Rooney Mara all working beautifully together in this quirky, unmissable film.

If sport is your thing, then you'd be mad to miss Tommy's Honour, the true-life story of one of the pioneers of modern day golfing. Young Tommy Morris grows up in the shadow of his legendary father, golfing star Old Tom Morris. But Tommy refuses to let the unwritten rules of social status dictate his future, and is determined to marry the woman of his dreams and become a professional golfer.

And for everyone that didn't manage to snap up a seat for Dunkirk, don't you fret, we have another week of the war epic and plenty of screenings for you to choose from. Finally, to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Merchant Ivory's period drama, we have a gorgeous restoration of Howard's End for you to feast your eyes upon.
