THREE litres of vodka were seized from children in Ilkley Park over the weekend in a police clampdown on anti-social behaviour.
PCSOs also confiscated 18 cans of beer, four of cider and a quantity of Pimms. The haul has been described by police as a "worrying amount of alcohol" - and officers warned they would be back to seize more.
The problem was outlined at a meeting of Ilkley Parish Council this week when Inspector Khalid Khan said police were trying to work with shops to make sure they take responsibility for who they sell to.
Last year a police and community partnership was launched in Ilkley to tackle underage drinking and anti-social behaviour.
Representatives of an already established Bradford District Community Alcohol Partnership (CAP) teamed up with Ilkley Grammar School, local alcohol outlets, Bradford Council and local youth services to address any issues with underage drinking.
CAP initiatives started around the country include teacher training programmes, alcohol awareness courses for young people found in possession of alcohol, diversionary activity schemes, sports activities, youth cafes, mobile outreach services and school theatre workshops.
