WORKING Keighley parents with children aged three or four are being urged to check their eligibility for additional free childcare.

All youngsters that age are eligible for 15 hours' free childcare, but from September some could qualify for twice that.

Parents must be working and each earning at least £120 a week, but no more than £100,000 annually.

Children are eligible from the term following their third birthday until they reach compulsory school age or start in a school reception class.

Councillor Imran Khan, Bradford Council's portfolio holder for education, employment and skills, said: "We know that childcare is a great way parents can help their child make new friends, learn new skills and have fun, and this can make a big difference to children's lives.

"But the additional childcare hours can also help parents who are in part-time work get additional working hours. If parents are eligible and want to get the additional childcare, they need to apply now."
