EAST Morton duo Richard and Andrew Walker has won its first dairy championship at Skipton Auction Mart.
The champion animal, a home-bred heifer, sold for £2,180.
Glusburn-based DS & A Fort showed the first-prize cow, which sold for £1,920 to show judge, Peter Sowray.
The same day saw an impressive show of Continental calves.
Geoff and Margaret Booth, of Dowshaw Farm, Lothersdale, enjoyed the top price of £460.
"In the dairy championship there was a much improved trade – with Arla's price increase looking to be the main catalyst," said an event spokesman.
"Continental heifers were also good to sell yet again."
