A VETERANS breakfast club being served-up in Keighley is proving a huge success.

Current and ex-service people attend the monthly sessions, at The Livery Rooms' Wetherspoon pub in North Street.

More than 30 people met for the latest gathering.

They represented all branches of the armed forces and ranged in age from 92-year-old Stanley Green to younger men and women who have recently left service.

The Royal British Legion (RBL) and SSAFA were also on hand to offer help and advice.

The club was launched late last year by Keighley Armed Forces Association.

Keighley RBL secretary Jackie McGinnis, who attends as a guest, said: "The club provides an opportunity for veterans and serving personnel to meet up and socialise.

"We are also hoping to organise some speakers for future meetings and advice is available for people should they need it."

The next meeting is on August 12, from 10am to noon.
