OVER 140 people visited Ilkley Civic Society's Conservation Exhibition at Christchurch, Ilkley on June 16 and 17.
The Society is taking part in the national celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Civic Amenities Act 1967 which enabled the creation of Conservation Areas in planning legislation.
There are three conservation areas in Ilkley and some fine listed buildings, and the exhibition was designed to inform the public about these so they can appreciate these assets to the town.
A number of local organisations also exhibited on aspects of their conservation work in the area.
The exhibition centred on living and working in the conservation areas and provided people with advice on property maintenance and the enhancement of original features.
