THE Ilkley Beer Festival organised by Ilkley and District Round Table is set to continue raising money for charity throughout the year due to a continuing collaboration with two Ilkley-based breweries.
Ilkley Brewery and Wharfedale Brewery joined forces to create a hugely popular XPA specifically for the Ilkley Beer Festival’s tenth annual event. More than a dozen firkins were consumed in just two days at the well-attended event in February.
Every pint and barrel consumed will donate money to Ilkley and District Round Table’s charity fund which supports local causes such as The LS29 Group, established to support families of children with additional needs. Last year was the most successful year yet, generating over £50,000 in charity funds.
The XPA can now be sampled at a number of Ilkley pubs, including The Flying Duck, The Wheatley and the Black Hat giving people the chance to sample a popular ale and at the same time support the local community.
