A CARE trust which runs a mental health centre at Airedale Hospital has thanked its 300-plus volunteers.

Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust staged an annual celebration marking the work of the voluntary team.

Unpaid roles range from leading weekly walks and group activities to providing support at the Carers' Hub.

Among those thanked was Bev Monkman, who has been volunteering for two years.

"I enjoy it," she said.

"I've taken part in training courses and learned new skills and over time my confidence has grown.

"I have a long-term health condition and volunteering gives me extra motivation to get up and do something good each day."

Tribute is paid to the team by Catherine Jowitt, volunteering lead at the trust.

"We have some amazing volunteers making a difference to the people of Bradford, Airedale, Wharfedale and Craven," she said.

"Our annual event recognises and gives thanks to all our volunteers for their valuable contribution and dedication."
