A PLANE was forced to abandon take off in a drama at Leeds Bradford Airport this morning.

Fire crews were called because of a technical issue on the plane, which was due to fly to Alicante. Passengers were taken off the aircraft and were due to fly out on a replacement plane later in the morning.

A Jet2.com spokesperson said: "Flight LS271 from Leeds Bradford Airport to Alicante returned to stand as a precautionary measure following a technical fault indication. All passengers disembarked safely and a replacement aircraft will take them to Alicante later this morning. We would like to apologise to our customers for the delay this has caused to the start of their holidays."

Two days ago Leeds Bradford Airport was closed and passengers evacuated after a security scare resulted in the bomb disposal squad being called.
