THE DalesBus service from Leeds to Grassington and Buckden will not run on Sunday because of the Tour de Yorkshire cycle race.

The 874 bus, which picks up in Otley and Ilkley before heading into the Dales, will not operate at all, but the CravenLink 874, between Ilkley, Bolton Abbey and Skipton, will operate a reduced timetable.

The X43 Witchway between Skipton and Grassington is expected to be cancelled between 11.25am and 2.25pm, when the caravan and cyclists are expected to pass through Craven, but will run as usual otherwise.

Meanwhile, the DalesBus summer timetable is due to start on Bank Holiday Monday (May 1) with a new service between Bradford and Malham.

The CravenLink 873 will call at Shipley, Burley-in-Wharfedale, Ilkley and Skipton before going to Malham.

There will also be a new express service, the Yorkshire Dalesman 875 to Buckden, Aysgarth and Hawes, from Burley and Ilkley, and with connections on the 874 from Otley and Addingham and from Barnoldswick and Skipton on the X43.

Senior bus passes will be valid on all these Wharfedale and Malhamdale services as far as Malham or Hawes.
