THANK you to everyone who recently voted for the Outdoor Adventure Club to win lottery funding for our town, as featured in this newspaper (see page 25.
The People’s Projects is ITV and the Big Lottery’s competition to let the public decide how National Lottery funding is spent to make a difference in local communities.
Our project was to run a programme of outdoor activities to benefit Keighley children and young people and improve our local woodlands.
We were heartened by the support we received from Keighley people as we promoted the public vote at local events and around town, however sadly we did not receive enough votes to receive one of the top prizes of up to £50,000.
As runners-up we will receive up to £5,000 and look forward to running some outdoor programmes to help get Keighley kids active outdoors, like the forest school, which takes place in Park Wood this Easter holiday.
