A DEVELOPER'S plans to build almost a hundred new homes on the outskirts of Skipton is still 'pending a decision' from Craven planners.
Persimmon Homes, which first revealed its plans for land off Aldersley Avenue in May last year, submitted a full planning application to the council last September.
Wayne Gradwell, managing director for Persimmon Homes West Yorkshire, said it was hoped the application would go to the next planning committee meeting.
“The planning application for 96 much needed new homes off Aldersley Avenue in Skipton is still pending a decision by Craven District Council.
“We are currently seeking a meeting with the council to discuss various technical aspects related to the internal layout of the development, with a view to getting the application to a planning committee in May.
“There is a significant shortage of homes in the Craven district and we believe the site would provide much needed new now homes in a sustainable location in the town of Skipton, in line with current and emerging policy.”
A public meeting of Skipton Town Council last year heard strong objections from residents including impact on services and increased traffic on the roads.
