A LANDOWNER has resubmitted plans to convert a former reservoir tank in South Craven to an underground 'Grand Designs' style home.

James Wade's plans to convert the former reservoir off Cononley Road, Glusburn, were rejected by Craven councillors in December last year.

Mr Wade has now re-submitted his application in a bid to get Craven District Council to change its mind.

His agents, Rural Solutions, say amendments to the scheme have been made on the advice of a planning officer.

They include clarification that the site has previously been developed, and that it will use the existing structure of the former reservoir.

The proposed access track will be made up of 'stone fragments' that will nestle into the field, and changes have been made to provide additional light.

When the application was refused last year, concern was raised at the planning committee that the former reservoir walls could be removed at some point, leaving the four bedroom home standing alone.
