AN MP is calling for the scrapping of plans which he says will see schools across the district lose thousands of pounds.
Philip Davies, whose Shipley constituency includes Cullingworth and Denholme, said the Government's Fairer Funding Formula was "simply unjustifiable".
He claimed every school in his constituency would lose out.
"This formula is taking money from schools in the Bradford district – which is one of the worst performing local authorities in the country for education – to transfer it to some of the highest performing authorities which is absolute madness," he added.
Mr Davies demanded that Education Secretary Justine Greening attend the Commons to debate the issue.
Commons leader David Lidington said consultation on the draft national funding formula had only just ended and that detailed submissions needed to be considered, but that there would be a debate.
Ms Greening said the 2018-19 formula would put an end to "unfair and inconsistent" funding.
