A 187 mile tandem ride has earned two Otley cyclists a place in the record books.
Otley Cycle Club Members Christine Bell and Rachel Crowther clocked up the distance on their tandem in a 12-hour challenge last July.
Their effort set a new club record and also broke the existing national record - though they have been waiting to have the latter achievement officially ratified.
The pair have now been presented with certificates declaring them holders of the National Veteran Time Trials Association (VTTA) Best on Record for Women’s 12-hour Tandem.
Otley Cycle Club Captain Brian Keighley said: "A 12 hour ride is a daunting enough task in itself but perhaps even more so when done on a tandem.
"Not only did Rachel and Christine complete the event still smiling and still friends, but they also set a new club tandem record for women in a 12-hour."
