THE half-term holidays are fast approaching so it’s time to glean some great Days Out ideas.

Family fun is guaranteed at theme parks and leisure centres, which generally have a programme of activities planned out for the school holidays.

With so many things to do, we’ve checked out a few family-orientated activities in our local area:

Youngsters have the opportunity to meet Sid and Scrat when they climb aboard the Keighley Worth Valley Railway.

The Ice Age characters will be meeting and greeting visitors during two fun-packed days on Tuesday February 21 and Wednesday February 22.

Nintendo’s YO-KAI WATCH, the hugely popular animation and video game series originating from Japan, will be providing some half-term family fun at the National Media Museum in Bradford.

Young visitors can design and use their own cardboard game controllers, meet the character Jibanyan, who will be making daily visits to the museum, and they can also play the latest game for Nintendo 2DS and Nintendo 3DS.

The museum will be split into zones relating to the Yo-kai tribes each offering its own set of activities such as hunting hidden tribes in a Yo-kai trail, participating in a 3DS pop-up quiz and getting creative.
