A FUNDRAISING coffee morning in Otley has raised nearly £400.

The event, held at Our Lady and All Saints RC Church's Parish Centre last Sunday, was in support of 3 Marathons for 3 Charities.

The £386 raised will be added to the money being collected by local runner Danny Cooney for Martin House Children's Hospice, HCPT Otley 198 Group and the Society of Vincent De Paul.

Otley resident Danny completed the Cork, Dublin and Lanzarote International Marathons in 2016 to generate money for the three causes.

He will hold his final fundraiser on Saturday, January 21 when Korks Wine Bar in Otley will host a music night.

The event, starting at 8pm, will feature live performances from Barnsley's Keiran La Fox, supported by Lia Stephan, and two DJs - Steve Sheard and Luka Taylor.

There will also be a raffle, compered by Town Councillor Nigel Francis.

Tickets cost £5 on the door and are also available in advance from the Yorkshire Runner shop, on Bondgate.

Danny will take on a further race, meanwhile - this time the Barcelona Marathon - on March 12.

The run will be for the Lily Foundation and its research into Mitochondrial Disease in support of two year old Otley girl Isla Mellon, who has the condition, and her parents Shona and David.
