AS part of the Ilkley Arts Festival the local Two Rivers Concert Band will be giving a concert in The Baptist Church, Kings Road, Ilkley on Saturday, November 19 starting at 7.30pm.
A band spokesman said: "The question ‘what is a concert band?’ is often asked. Perhaps the easiest explanation is it comprises wind instruments such as saxophones, clarinets, flutes and brass together with percussion, which play orchestral music and their own unique repertoire. The band will play pieces ranging from Holst to Strauss and from classical to more modern popular pieces including arrangements from the West End and film.
"Entrance is free and refreshments will be provided although donations will be accepted with all proceeds going to Medicins Sans Frontiers. Come along and support Ilkley’s local band. For further information call Nick Smith on 07877 736806."
