SCOUTS from Wharfedale are raising funds for a local autism charity by organising the Ilkley Scare Trail on Saturday, October 29.

The Scouts from Addingham and Burley-in-Wharfedale organised the event in 2015 to help raise funds for their trip to Switzerland where they represented the UK at the International Scout Centre in Kandersteg. The event was such a success they decided to run the event again, and this year raise funds for a local charity. Paul Jennings, the event organiser and Addingham Scout Leader said: "We had such an amazing experience, and received an incredible amount of support that we decided to give something back to the local community. We chose AWARE - Airedale & Wharfedale Autism Resource - as it linked in to our trip as we took a number of Scouts on the Autistic spectrum to Switzerland who all gained a huge amount from the experience, and we hope that joining up with AWARE will help them to help even more families affected by autism in the future.

"The 'Bigger, longer and Scarier' Ilkley Scare Trail takes place in Middleton Woods on Curly Hill on Saturday 29th, with a free Pumpkin Trail for toddlers and young children from 4pm to 6pm, and then, as the darkness descends, the fear increases at 6.30pm as the Frightmare Trail opens, an interactive experience with live actors, special sound and lighting FX's and lots of things that will go bump in the night - so not for the faint hearted!"

Tickets for the Frightmare Trail are available from the website www.ilkleyscaretrail.co.uk
