POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a man was seriously injured in a road accident in Otley.

The 63-year-old pedestrian was hurt on the A6038 Bradford Road, on its approach to the A660 roundabout, at about 10.50am on Tuesday, September 13.

He was involved in a collision with a Ford Fiesta that had been heading towards the town centre and was treated by by paramedics before being taken to Leeds General Infirmary.

His inuries are described as serious but are not believed to be life threatening.

West Yorkshire Police are asking anyone who saw the acccident or was in the area at the time, and may have seen the vehicle or the pedestrain beforehand, to get in touch.

The incident saw part of Bradford Road closed for much of Tuesday and traffic diverted.

Yorkshire Ambulance Service sent two ambulances and a Rapid Arrest Team to the scene, and said the pedestrian had suffered a head injury.
