MUSIC legend Tommy Steele will bring hit show The Glenn Miller Story to the Alhambra Theatre this autumn.

The national tour of the show, extended following its success around the UK, can be seen from October 25 to 29.

It aims to tell the extraordinary tale of America’s most famous big band leader by getting the audience on their feet jiving.

It has been 70 years since Glenn Miller vanished over the English Channel as he flew to Paris to entertain the troops during the Second World War.

Did he crash? Was he shot down? Will the mystery ever be solved?

The Glenn Miller Story promises a 16-piece orchestra, a supporting company of performers and dazzling choreography.

Tommy is a true devotee of Glenn Miller and his Orchestra travelling all over the world to hear what remains of the original Orchestral Sounds, and believes Glenn changed the face of music from 1939 to 1943 when he was the most popular recording artist in the world.

Tommy Steele was Britain’s first rock ‘n’ roll star, dubbed the UK’s answer to Elvis Presley, going on to achieve great success in films.

His legendary career includes over 20 hit singles, 12 hit movies and many award-winning stage musicals such as Half A Sixpence, Hans Andersen and Singin’ In The Rain.
