A LOCAL charity is gearing up for a night of music, dancing, food and fun at their third annual Summer Ball.

Angels for Children Foundation is holding the event at The Craiglands Hotel, Ilkley, on Saturday, June 25 from 7:30pm onwards, with live music from The Beat Leaders.

Angels for Children was founded by Menston resident Beth Street to support children in her home country of the Philippines, particularly after the devastation caused by Typhoon Haiyan in 2013. Presently they are helping to rebuild the San Remigo school in the Cebu province. The school had not benefited from any major charity disaster fund that had been available elsewhere during the typhoon, but were fortunate to get some aid from a French charity, who built a new grade-2 classroom during the month they worked there. Angels for Children is now hoping to rebuild another classroom, having already provided the funds to complete an outdoor stage which the students requested for their play, performances and graduation ceremonies.

The new classroom will be their biggest project yet, but three bags of cement can be bought with the proceeds of a single ball ticket, whereas one table at the ball will purchase a wooden entrance door.

There is still a table for 10 people available at £250, or a few other spaces. If you would like to join them for a great night out, you can still buy a £30 ticket; contact Beth on info@AngelsForChildren.org.uk or call 07719 785986 http://www.angelsforchildren.org.uk/
