A FASHION show held in Ilkley in aid of the Guide Dogs charity proved to be a success, raising almost £250.

The Edinburgh Woollen Mill spring summer fashion show was staged on May 17 at the Clarke Foley Centre in Ilkley.

Ilkley and District Guide Dogs Fundraising Group would like to thank all the staff at the centre, in Cunliffe Road. A total of £248 was raised through ticket sales, a raffle and tombola.

The Ilkley group's campaigns and collection box co-ordinator, Andrew Barton, said: "I would like to take this opportunity to thank Gillian and Mo at EWM and all their staff, as well as the members of the fundraising group together with friends from SpecSavers in Ilkley, who all made the event such a resounding success.

"We are very grateful to all the people who agreed to sign the Guide Dogs Access All Areas petition, as this will be presented to the Government at a Parliamentary lobby, which aims to strengthen the law and ensure guide dogs and their owners are able to go wherever they wish without any difficulties, which is not the case at the moment."
