OTLEY Methodist Church is expecting to be very busy during Tour de Yorkshire day.

The church stands in Boroughgate, where the women's race and stage two of the men's competition will both start on Saturday.

It will be serving Fairtrade tea and coffee, bacon butties, cakes and light lunches between 7am and 4pm on the day.

Visitors will also be able to keep an eye on the action as a big screen has been set up inside the church to show live TV coverage of the race.

Half of the proceeds from the day will be given to the Nepal Birthing Centre Project – a scheme to construct a modern toilet block within a birthing centre in a remote Nepalese village.

The church hopes the new facilities will dramatically increase the survival rates for newborn babies and boost the health of mothers in the region.
