ILKLEY Grammar School students proved they were top of the class in the Bradford School Games at Bradford University.
The Year 7 girls’ netball team finished in gold medal position, as did the Year 7 girls’ sports hall athletics team. They both now progress to the West Yorkshire school games.
The Year 9 girls’ basketball team finished in second place, playing well in their first ever game against a tough Beckfoot team. The Year 9 boys’ basketball team also finishing as runners-up.
The team played consistently well and only lost one match to a very strong Beckfoot team.
PE Teacher, Faye Allen, was thrilled with their success.
She said: "All teams did IGS proud and represented the school tremendously, both in their events and their behaviour. It was a great day for IGS athletes, with special congratulations to the Year 7 girls."
